CINCINNATI –The Cincinnati men’s basketball program signed Old Dominion graduate forward Kalu Ezikpe as its first addition of the spring.

Ezikpe (Lawrenceville, Georgia) has one year of eligibility. He’s increased his scoring, rebounds and minutes every year of his career, peaking at 11.3 points and 7.1 rebounds per game (eighth in C-USA) this season. The 6-foot-8, 240-pound team captain also shot 52.2 percent from the field and 73.5 percent from the foul line to go with a team-best 36 blocks.

Ezikpe earned C-USA Player of the Week honors on February 28, which included a 17-point, 17-rebound outing in a win over Florida Atlantic, one of his three double-doubles. As a junior, he scored 10.3 ppg with 6.7 rpg (seventh in C-USA), including a career-high 22 points at Charlotte and 13 boards against Middle Tennessee.

Earlier in his career, Ezikpe had 14 rebounds in 20 minutes as a sophomore in a win over UAB, plus eight points, four blocks and the assist against Louisiana Tech as a rookie in the C-USA Quarterfinals. He helped Old Dominion win the 2019 Conference USA regular season and tournament titles and was Georgia’s seventh prospect at Discovery High School.
