Busan Metropolitan City and Busan Tourism Organization have released a promotional video to introduce the unique ambience of Busan, an international tourist city, to the global market through the Visit Busan YouTube channel. The video shows Busan’s unique content under the themes of Sanbokdoro (Sanbok Road), Busan Eomuk (Fish Cake) and the atmosphere of Busan. As Eyheymahamo, a slogan and a word made up of Eyhey, Ma and Hamo, the dialect of Busan, is repeated throughout the video, it arouses the curiosity of foreign viewers. This promotional video was designed as a unique content of Busan under the three themes of Sanbokdoro (Sanbok road), Busan Eomuk (fish cake)and the atmosphere of Busan. The video shows the thrilling bus ride that can only be experienced on Sanbokdoro, Busan’s signature food, Eomuk and the cozy atmosphere of a traditional market, and the Busan vibe spills into the baseball stadium Sajik, the biggest karaoke in the world.
In particular, Eyheymahamo, a slogan similar to Abracadabra or Hakuna Matata that is repeated throughout the video, arouses the curiosity of foreign viewers. Eyheymahamo is a compound word of Eyhey, Ma and Hamo, the dialect of Busan. This sentence means: “Hey, don’t worry. You’re okay.”
Mudd the Student, a rapper from Busan who participated in “Show Me the Money Season 10,” composed the song using the Busan dialect and appeared on the video. The video also features choreography created by Hook, a Street Woman Fighter dance crew. These artists will continue to act as role models for Busan tourism.
Following the release of the video, Busan Metropolitan City and BTO will start airing it from February 25 as a short challenge with famous global influencers using Tiktok, a global short video platform, and Weibo, a Chinese microblogging site. .
With the video showing the charm of Busan as an international tourist city, Busan Metropolitan City will increase Busan’s worldwide recognition as the most beloved city of Koreans and a city that foreign tourists would like to visit.
