The Bears (14-4-2) will travel to Belchertown (15-1-4) at 2 p.m. Saturday for the Div. 3 Elite 8. Belchertown, who won the Div. 3rd state title, defeated Dover-Sherborn 1-0 in the round of 16 on Wednesday.
“They were very happy,” Almeida said of the Bulldogs’ progress. “They worked a lot. They were really excited and happy for each other.
Almeida said he was not surprised at his side’s success in his first full season at the helm after taking over ahead of the shortened campaign from Fall 2 to Spring.
“It’s the fact that the guys have bought into the gaming system,” he said. “They have embraced an all-for-one mentality. They have fun and have fun. It’s a special season.
