ITE Hong Kong 2022 Boosts Tourism Recovery and Proven On-Premises Online Services for Greater Flexibility
HONG KONG, November 16, 2021 / PRNewswire / – that of Hong Kong only Travel Expo ITE2021 took place successfully at the end of July while the 36th ITE will be held from 9 to June 12, 2022, both at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center. Again, the first and a half days of the ITE only admits registered trade visitors, while the remaining days visitors buy an entrance ticket and retail is then allowed.
Although smaller, ITE 2021 has maintained the quality! It attracted 2544 professional / MICE visitors, 27106 public visitors, more than 100 exhibitors, nearly two-thirds of them from outside Hong Kong! The largest pavilions came from continent China, Taiwan and Japan which had about fifteen stands in nearly 10 prefectures. The new themed pavilions of glamorous camping, outdoor, green and sports tourism for post-pandemic travel were popular.
Others have attended the ITE via online, including foreign exhibitors via ZOOM who meet visitors inside the fairgrounds or visitors outside the fairgrounds who watch on-site seminars broadcast in direct on Facebook.
In ITE 2021, around fifty participants were present seminars mainly on overseas destinations, and its survey drew 4,514 responses revealed a huge pent-up travel demand–21% of respondents travel abroad within one month and 69% within 6 months after the lifting of travel restrictions; 60% keep or increase the travel budget in the coming year. Significantly, Hong Kong does not prohibit citizens from traveling abroad.
In pre-pandemic 2019, Hong Kong spent US $ 26.9 billion on overseas travel and ranked 12th largest market in the world, and annually over 2 million Hong Kong citizens visited Japan.
The media recently reported Hong Kong the government hopes to reopen the border with the mainland China quite significantly in February and entirely before Réunion’s anniversary on 1st of July; and an executive advisor commented Hong Kong could open up to global travel later in the course of next year. Thus, ITE 2022 will probably have more exhibitors and international buyers from other cities in the Grande Baie region.
In a context of wider vaccination and more and more countries and regions reopening their borders to foreign travelers, ITE 2022 comes at the right time to facilitate the resumption of tourism!
