PHILADELPHIA, Pennsylvania – La Salle women’s basketball team and fifth-year head coach MacGillivray Mountain will take on its toughest non-conference roster yet starting Nov. 7 at Howard, the program announced Friday.

The 14-game schedule includes 10 road games for the Explorers, including two on the West Coast as part of the return of the Great Alaska Shootout.

After traveling to Washington, DC to start the 2022-23 season, the Explorers head north for a two-game streak against Sacred Heart on November 10 in Fairfield, Connecticut and Niagara on November 12 in Niagara, New York.

The Explorers will make their Tom Gola Arena debut for the season on Nov. 15 when they face Drexel in the home opener.

Another stretch of road will ensue for La Salle starting with a trip west for the Great Alaska Shootout where the Explorers face Pepperdine on November 18, followed by either UC Riverside or Alaska Anchorage on November 19. The Blue & Gold will wrap up Lafayette’s four-game stint in Easton, Pa. on Nov. 22.

La Salle will play four of its last seven games in 2022 at home starting with three straight home games against Penn (November 29), Lehigh (December 3) and Monmouth (December 7). The Explorers will make a short trip to Maryland on December 10 to take on UMES before heading further south to take on USF in Tampa, Fla. on December 17.

The Explorers round out the non-conference schedule with Big 5 opponents Villanova and Temple. The Explorers travel to the Wildcats on Dec. 21, then have a seven-day break before hosting the Owls on Dec. 29.

“From Niagara Falls to Alaska, to sunny Florida and back to the Big 5, our non-conference program provides us with fantastic experiences,” said MacGillivray. “This schedule will be demanding from a competitive and travel perspective, but it is designed to make us stronger and ready for conference play.”
