Morgan Wallen pays for youth team trip to World Series – OutKick

The Humphreys County Dixie League team from Tennessee recently won their state championship, earning a berth in the league’s World Series in South Carolina.

Normally, youth league teams have to make fundraising efforts to ensure they can afford the trip to where the venue is.

This time however, the Humphreys County team has received good news from a generous benefactor.

Country music star Morgan Wallen heard about the team’s success and jumped in to help. According to the new reportNot only does Wallen pay for their travel expenses, but he goes further and offers more financial assistance:

“The ‘You Proof’ singer, a former baseball player himself, is covering the cost of new uniforms, travel, food and more for the team”

“Morgan covered their room and board, their experiences, you know, memories. They won’t miss anything,” assistant coach Steven Wilson said. musical chaos. “I can’t explain how much it actually helped these kids after what they went through.”

The gesture is all the more impactful as the team come from the region which has been hit hard by huge floods that have driven them out of schools and out of their usual routines.

For his part, Wallen explained that he was a huge baseball fan and wanted to show his support for their story:

“So your story is just inspiring, it inspired me, it made me proud especially since you’re from the same area as me,” Wallen continued. “I’m really proud of you all. I’ve also played baseball for a very long time in my life, it’s my favorite sport and teamwork is everything. My team these days is my band and my team and from my team to yours we want to send you all to south carolina and we also want to wish you all the best hope you have a great time and we hope you win and we cheer you all on from here to tennessee . Good luck!'”

It’s a great gesture from Wallen, and it will no doubt be something these kids will remember forever.
