Runners announce 2022 football schedule

Four new opponents, a pair of familiar foes and five OVC games highlight Murray State’s 2022 football schedule, released Tuesday. The 2022 season will be the 98and for the Racers as a college program, their 50and in the historic Roy Stewart Stadium and their 75andand final, at the Ohio Valley Conference.

Murray State opens its 2022 campaign in Big XII country with a trip to Lubbock for its first-ever meeting with Texas Tech on Sept. 3. The following week, the Racers return home to kick off their 50and season at The Track with former conference rival Jacksonville State on September 10.

On September 17, the Racers travel to Muncie, Indiana to face their second new opponent of the season when they take on Ball State. On September 24, Murray State opens its 75and and final season in the home OVC with Eastern Illinois for Family Weekend.

The Racers will start October in bayou country when they travel to Hammond to take on Southeast Louisiana on October 1, before returning home on October 8 to host UT Martin. After the annual brawl with the Skyhawks, the Racers will hit the road for back-to-back games against arch-rival and former OVC member Austin Peay on Oct. 15 in Clarksville and OVC newcomer and MSU’s third new opponent. of the Lindenwood season on October 22 in St. Charles, Missouri.

The 2022 homecoming will take place on October 29 against Tennessee State, leading into the team’s annual bye week. After the goodbye, MSU returns home for the final time in 2022 to welcome new opponent number four Robert Morris in a non-conference affair on Nov. 12, followed by the season finale at Southeast Missouri on November 19.

Season ticket information will be sent on April 8 for season ticket renewals and new purchases, with single match tickets being made available at a later date.
