Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents: Danger in booking through independents | Daily Express Online

Kota Kinabalu: The Sabah Association of Tour and Travel Agents (Satta) said it has repeatedly advised tourists not to register their bookings with individual freelancers to avoid being scammed.

When it comes to monetary transactions, we should always be careful, especially when dealing with people claiming to be travel agents, its chairman Dato’ Seri Winston Liaw warned. Tourists must register with licensed travel agents and pay the deposit and the price of the trip to the agencies account, not to a person’s account.
