Santa Claus arrives in neighborhoods in December

The Mills River Fire Department, in partnership with the Mills River Parks and Recreation Department and the Henderson County Sheriff’s Office, will be bringing Santa Claus to the Mills River neighborhoods on Saturday, December 11.

Santa Claus will drive through town in a big red fire truck, bringing holiday cheer to the boys and girls of Mills River.

The Santa Claus ride will start at 9:30 a.m. and Santa will return to the North Pole at 4 p.m.

Due to the size of Mills River and the mountainous roads, the fire truck will not be able to take every road in the city, but will go through main roads and as many neighborhoods as possible.

Those not along Santa’s route may spot the merry old elf at one of the designated “Santa stops”. Santa’s assistants will be on hand to distribute candy canes to all the children they meet along the way.

The stops of Santa Claus are:

  • High Vista Country Club, 88 Country Club Road
  • Glenn Marlow Elementary School, 1885 Butler Bridge Road
  • North River Farms, 3333 N. Mills River Road
  • Boylston Baptist Church, 10642 Boylston Road
  • Mills River Elementary School, 94 School House Road

Residents can also follow Santa Claus live during the tour via GPS on the town’s website and on the Town of Mills River, NC Facebook page at
