Study abroad is back – are you ready to travel?

What can I study abroad?

The units you complete during your Global Experience will vary depending on your degree and the program you wish to undertake. For most short-term programs (usually 2-6 weeks during summer/winter break), you can decide if you want to receive credits.

After applying to the semester and one-year exchange programs, you will receive guidance on the units you will need to undertake before, during and after your global experience. Information Sessions and Application Workshops Sydney Abroad will guide you through this process.

How much does all this cost?

Your destination, living expenses, accommodation preferences, additional trips, flights and more all impact the cost of an overall experience. It is important to plan your personal budget so that you can choose the right destination and the right program.

As an exchange student (on a short-term, semester or year-long program), you will remain enrolled and continue to pay tuition and SSAF fees to the University from Sydney for the duration of your programme. For non-exchange programs – which are usually short-lived – you register and pay tuition fees directly to the host institution or program provider. There are Sydney Study Abroad Scholarships and faculty-specific scholarships available. If you hold a Commonwealth-supported place in your course, you may be eligible for an OS-HELP loan.
