The “hidden” of New Zealand
gem

In a recent list of the most hidden beaches in the world by the British company Sun Bingo, Kiwis’ favorite beach, Totaranui Beach, came in at number 4. Beaches were ranked by the number of hashtags they had on Instagram, with the least tagged spots considered the most secret. While not exactly hidden by New Zealand standards, Tasman’s Totaranui only got 420 Instagram mentions. Topping the list of the world’s least-known stretches of sand was Shelter Cove in California (124 Instagram tags). Italy’s Cala Goloritze finished second, Bulgaria’s Lipite Beach third and Scotland’s Sandwood Bay finished No. 5.
